Where the big numbers come from.
You have heard the stories: 500 makes before breakfast, 1,000 shots a day, the professional who never leaves the gym. Some of those stories are true. Almost all of them describe players who already have grooved, correct mechanics and are maintaining them.
That is a completely different task from fixing a shot. Maintenance rewards volume. Correction rewards attention. A player with a flared elbow who shoots 1,000 reps a day is practising a flared elbow 1,000 times.
A realistic framework by goal.
